Ask the Audience

Okay, so it's time to bring up the "E" word to your partner. How do you do it? When is the right time? How many dates before the topic of Endometriosis comes up? Do you think this makes or breaks the relationship?

I want to know your thoughts, past experiences, and feelings on this subject.

Leave a comment below, or shoot me an e-mail if you want to remain anonymous.

I will be typing up a follow-up post as advice for single endo women soon.

  1. I honestly can't remember how or when I brought it up to my boyfriend. It was probably after our first attempt at intercourse. It was painful. I had to explain it somehow. I blamed the IC and told him what that was. Honestly, it took several years of explaining for him to finally understand what Endometriosis actually is. He had heard of it because his sister had it. It didn't take long until it was commonplace for us to talk about it. I was worried because he wanted sex so often, and it was the farthest thing from my mind. Really. He still to this day thinks I hurt because I don't want to be with him. I'm not sure if he thinks I'm making it up or just exaggerating a little pain.

    1. That is really tough, it isn't that we don't want to be intimate. We just have a very difficult time with the pain :(
